- What if I don't like being on camera?
- Great news - you don't have to! Plenty of people feel the same. We can still create a brilliant video for you by working together. We will find stock footage including images and other mediums which we can incorporate into your video and layer your voice over the top - so not a problem.
- I am not tech savvy. How do I ensure my recording device is fit for purpose?
- All modern mobiles have excellent quality video recorders and microphones. So that won't be a problem for you. Promise. We will send you a comprehensive instruction sheet on exactly how to set up your mobile which will include what settings to use. Upon your first payment, we will also send you a short instructional video on this as well. Plus we will have a 30 min consultation with you before you even get started to make sure you are confident in what you need to do.
- Is there a discount if I return to Screencruit in the future for another video?

- What about selection bias concerning my appearance?
- Most platforms, like LinkedIn and company portals already demand applicants to declare age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality and country of origin. All of which a CV and/or interview will inevitably discover further along in the process anyway. Screencruit videos are indiscriminate. They do not perpetuate bias - they expose it and save you wasting your time in any further of the onboarding process. Furthermore, if you wish to demonstrate your language skills for a role outside of your native tongue, this is the perfect opportunity to alleviate HR concerns on your level of fluency.
- What if English is not my native tongue?
- Screencruit is not just about an English speaking community. Let's talk and discuss your script, whether you want this to be in English or another language... Or one in each. There is also the option of subtitles and/or captions.
- How many jobs can I apply to with my ONE video?
- As many as you like. Your video script will always be non-role specific to keep it as lucrative as possible in your search. Job titles are always changing too, so by omitting role titles it increases your video's longevity.
- What do I send Screencruit?
- We will send you full instructions on this so don't worry but in brief. We need two full recordings of your video via a shared link or a link to where you have uploaded the files (we can recommend a couple of platforms who offer this service for free). These will need to be in MOV or MP4 formats.
- How long do I wait?
- Video Resumés at Screencruit are handcrafted as every client needs are different therefore depending on which service you have bought (see pricing) the turnaround will range between 5 - 10 business days. Just to demonstrate how unique our services are for each client we research for your own referenced work history, hunting down respective client and company logos, references, former job titles, intro sequences, drawing out artwork, animations, graphic tiles, timing, designs, colours, fonts even knowing what to isolate from stock footage, masking, opacity and setting all their ¨keyframes¨ is a very intricate process.
- How many re-edits am I allowed?
- This depends on which service you have bought (see pricing). If you want more, we will give you a price. To make sure that re-edits are more tweaks than anything else, its extremely important for you to be as specific as you can in your 30 minute consultation (unless you have paid for more). From the off, we encourage you review Screencruit' prior videos. Make notes of effects, transitions, stock footage, VFX and anything else that helps you formulate your questions in advance, so that we can discuss them in your consultation before your script is even written. Certain stock footage you may wish to swap out for another, or even change the order or delete them, changing fonts, colours can be quite easy usually. However, changing animations, adding, deleting lines can be far more complicated and may take an extra number of days. Please be specific with your requests at this point.
- I need a video resumé for social media. Can Screencruit do this?
- Absolutely but you MUST tell us this from the outset. Formatting for platforms, such as Youtube, Instagram, TikTok all vary. The changes aspect ratio has great effect on how your stock footage, animations, titles - everything, appears on the screen. If this is done incorrectly, it may become hidden behind black screen. This work cannot be redone and is not covered under a re-edits clause.
- When is my final payment due?
- If you opted to pay in full, this is not-applicable to you but if you are paying in two halves then your video resumés are all watermarked with a transparent Screencruit logo to allow for a comprehensive understanding of how your video resumé is being constructed, whilst ensuring they are not downloaded without payment. Naturally, our stamp remains on the bottom corner as part of our brand fleet. You notify us via email to let us know you are happy with your result, this is when you must complete the remaining payment before the main logo is removed from the center of screen and you are provided with both an off & online (hosted on the Screencruit Youtube channel - public, private or unlisted) file of your video.
